Anquet V6.2.6 is now available for download and a changelog is included below.
According to the changelog the installer has been improved, but the serious bug concerning registry keys that I reported to them in September is still not fixed:- if you install the product to a directory other than the default, you will not be able to install any new maps. I changed my registry keys manually to fix this as described in my post, now V6.2.6 has changed them back again. RegEdit to the fore once again…
Also in this case, the installer still doesn’t detect the current installation, and displays the default directory in the dialog.
Changelog
- Full support for Garmin HCX GPS units.
- The installation process has been improved and we believe should now be a one step process for all v06 users, as it will now uninstall the old software, and install the new. (This won’t remove any mapping, unlocking information or user data, but simply update your software).
- New menu option ‘Help->Check for Software Update’. This will simply connect to the internet anonymously and to see if there is a newer version of the software than the one you are running. If there is a newer version, it will give you the web address from where it can be downloaded.
- New menu option ‘Help->MapServer Server Status’. This opens your web browser on the page http://www.anquet.co.uk/MapServer-Server-Status.htm Anquet will use this page to discuss any known service issues or planned maintenance that may affect the MapServer service.
- Two very good new FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) have been added to the system about Updating Software, and Connecting to the MapServer. Links to them are on the bottom of the MapServer status page.
- A refresh drawing bug on the List View for routes in the Data Explorer has been fixed, where sometimes text was being drawn on top of other text.
- 6.2.6 is ready for the upcoming A-Z Street Level data that will be announced shortly.
- The Map Legends in the help text have been updated and A-Z / Harvey legends have been added.
- 6.2.6 contains a Beta release for the Garmin Edge 705 and Colorado units. We believe this should be stable for reading and writing routes and waypoints. Currently it is only capable of reading tracklogs from the units into Anquet.
