Comment subscription added

I’ve finally added a plugin to the blog which enables you to subscribe to comments on any particular post. Underneath the ‘Post Comment‘ button there is now a checkbox labelled ‘Notify me of followup comments via e-mail‘.

From the description of the code I think you have to submit a comment in order to become subscribed to the post. The plugin also has a facility for ‘Managing your subscriptions‘ so you can unsubscribe.

After two days of toil and hacking around with PHP and MySQL, I got my local copy of the blog working on the server on this new PC, and the plugin seems to work ok here. This bodes well but is no substitute for a live test, if anyone finds any problems with it please let me know.

It now says at the bottom of the page that I’m subscribed to the thread.

I’ll let you know what happens when somebody else posts.
